India has the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayan regions and beautiful jungle rivers and beautiful hiking trails. It has some of the longest peaks in the world. Hiking in the Himalayas can be fun as there are some popular activities besides hiking in the region, especially during monsoon. Paragliding, climbing, beautiful flowers, and endangered wildlife are also possible, the Himalayas serve as a perfect refuge.
Tarsar Marsar Aru Valley Trek
● Difficulty: Moderate
● Region: Tarsar Marsar Aru Valley, Jammu & Kashmir
● 7-day duration
Tarsar Marsar is undoubtedly India’s most beautiful hike. We don’t give treks this title lightly. Especially when the Kashmir Great Lakes, a more demanding sister excursion, is included.
On the other hand, Tarsar Marsar is a stroll where alpine lakes take on a life of their own. It is not only that you get to camp next to these majestic blue, snow-fed lakes (something you do not get to do at KGL). Or the campgrounds’ seclusion (a godsend in today’s trekking situation).
The variety, on the other hand, is the best part of this journey. Every day is a new adventure, and you never know what you will encounter. The next day, you will witness big lakes between mountains adorned with patches of snow, and the next day, you will watch freshwater musically running down over cliffs. Sheep graze quietly while horses gallop around aimlessly. The landscape is as beautiful as a paradise should be.
Valley of Flowers Trek
● Region: Govind Ghat, Uttarakhand
● Difficulty: Moderate
● 6-day duration
Valley of Flowers trek is one of India’s most popular monsoon treks, and with good reason. Week after week, beautiful flowers with enticing aromas emerge from the damp dirt, carpeting the valley in vibrant hues. The blossoms are pink one week, yellow the next, crimson the following week, and so on. Furthermore, the scenery is breathtaking; snow-capped mountains rise on both sides, and puffy clouds cling to the valley.
Great Lakes of Kashmir
● Difficulty: Moderate to Difficulty
● Region: Gagangir, Jammu & Kashmir
● 7-day duration
On the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, we hike alongside Gadsar Lake. On a high-altitude hike, it is common to come across one or two alpine lakes. Seven alpine lakes arise day after day on the Kashmir Great Lakes trip, shocking you with their immensity and unparalleled beauty every time! It is, without a doubt, our country’s most gorgeous journey!
The best part is that each lake is unique and stunning in its own way. The landscape, on the other side, is stunning right after the monsoon, with lush meadows and tiny flowers littering the ground, to the point that you will wonder where to trade without trampling the flowers. Its brightness can be overwhelming. Apart from the lakes themselves, the eye-catching maple trees and plains of Satsar are noteworthy features of this walk.
Hampta Pass Trek
● Region: Manali, Himachal Pradesh
● Difficulty: Moderate
● 6-day duration
During the monsoon, Hampta Pass was transformed into a Valley of Flowers. Simply said, the Hampta Pass is Himachal’s Valley of Flowers. The scenery is quite similar to Valley of Flowers – a verdant, narrow valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains – but there’s a bonus here. The stark contrast from what you just left behind will take your breath away as you reach the other side of the Hampta Pass. Spiti Valley is known for its lonely expanses, high topography, and forget-me-not blue skies, which stretch out before you.
The hike comes to a close on the final day with a drive to Chandratal, a stunning blue alpine lake in the middle of a barren desert. It is an adventure with many surprising twists and turns!
Pin Bhaba Pass Trek
● Difficulty: Moderate
● Region: Kafnu, Himachal Pradesh
● 9-day duration
Two trekkers take a break after climbing the Pin Bhaba Pass in Spiti. Pin Bhaba Pass is without a doubt our country’s most stunning pass crossing expedition. That is an audacious claim to make. Especially since our nation has so many pass crossing trips. But what you see as you stand at the pass is a testament to our bold claim.
Once you reach the pass, you can see Pin valley below you, which is painted in various colors of pink and nestled among the barren and desolate mountains of Spiti. That is when you realize how drastically the scenery has altered.
